Moving house is one of the most stressful things we experience. It can feel like a huge ordeal; from preparing to move home to moving day<\/span>, the process can be incredibly stressful. <\/span><\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t matter whether you\u2019re moving from one home to another or putting your stuff in storage; packing all your belongings is challenging if you\u2019re not organized. <\/span><\/p>\n

That’s why we’ve created this checklist<\/span> for you to use to ensure you don\u2019t forget anything leading up to moving day<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

For starters, you\u2019ll need a few essential packing supplies<\/span> to make your move a bit smoother. Let’s take a look…<\/span><\/p>\n

Moving Supply Checklist<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

1. Moving Boxes<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Make sure<\/span> you have enough moving boxes<\/a><\/span> in a variety of sizes. You can calculate how many boxes<\/a> you’ll need ahead of time based on how many rooms your home or apartment has. For example, a one-bedroom apartment<\/a> might require 10-15 small boxes, 3-5 medium sized boxes and 2-3 large boxes<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t want to pay tons of money for boxes, ask your nearby grocery store or nearby businesses if they have any hardwearing boxes. Sometimes Facebook and other social sites have recycling pages where you can ask whether other movers have spare boxes from their move.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Wardrobe Boxes<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

These are also useful since you can leave clothes on their hangers when moving. Each wardrobe box<\/span> can hold about 2 feet of hanging clothes so you might want 2-3 per closet. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Heavy Duty Boxes<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

These boxes are great for fragile items<\/span> like dishes and glassware, and heavy items<\/span> like books and photo albums.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Packing Supplies<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Many moving companies<\/span> will bring their own packing supplies<\/span>, but if you opt for a DIY move make sure<\/span> you have the following items:<\/span><\/p>\n
